Why are the prices different online?

I find it incredibly annoying that I have to go online and search for the best price on a part so I can have it pricematched at the store. Kragen is so much more expensive in the store than parts america which is owned by Kragen. Why? why don't they just have the same prices? or why can't they at least offer to look it up in the store for you instead of sending you home to look it up and drive back to order it?

example: a drum for my 67 deville is $51.99 online at PartsAmerica (again, owned by Kragen) but it is $110 in the store. what on earth could possibly cause such a huge price difference?

I have let all this suspend my parts purchasing for another week.

Are you sure they were both the same drum? For instance a snare drum is a lot more expensive than a tom tom. Just make sure you compare apples to apples.

They were totally the same drum! Same part # same vendor.
